TestimonialsI went on a 2-hour one-to-one course to help me better understand how to position myself on busy roads and junctions. I was riding a Brompton folding bike but the key points are valid for all types. The instructor was Audrey and she delivered the training in a sensibly structured and enjoyable manner. Each part was briefed clearly both in the general theory and specific aspects of each type of junction and she made very good use of diagrams and junction photographs so that I had a clear idea of the hazards and issues that needed to be taken into account before undertaking the manoeuvres for real. The most useful advice was about improving how I look behind and making sure I was more positive in taking up the correct place in a lane but there were many other points that made me feel safer on the road and more able to deal with fast moving traffic. Overall, I can certainly recommend this course both for relative beginners but also for those like myself who have ridden bikes and driven cars for many years - it has also made a real difference to my awareness when I am back in the car.

Having been diagnosed with osteoporosis some years ago and having broken both of my wrists in falls, I entered the cycling proficiency school with some trepidation. I write to say a very big Thank You for all the support I received from Audrey today. The teaching was excellent, very clear and very supportive, and in a very short space of time I was cycling and feeling in complete control of my bike. Previously I had got on a bike but felt very unsure and nervous. I now feel confident to ride my bike and will enjoy joining my husband cycling around Europe.

I just wanted to say thank you for helping me to complete the Bikeability course levels 1-3. It was a very structured course and I feel like I know better what I am supposed to be doing now, which has given me more confidence in the town centre. My instructor Audrey was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, so I would recommend her unreservedly.

I have always wanted to be able to ride a bicycle - it was one of those skills traditionally learnt in childhood that for some reason I was never taught. So now, aged 40, I thought it was about time that I learnt. On Audrey's advice I visited a reputable bike shop and bought a hybrid bike which I could use for family outings to the park and on the road. Myself and a friend met with Audrey for a one hour Learn to Ride session which surpassed all my expectations. In an hour not only were myself and my friend riding our bikes but we were balancing down fairly steep verges. Audrey has a proven method of teaching. Now I can confidently take my bike to the park with my children and we can enjoy this activity together. I'm not ready to go on the road yet but will be returning to complete the Bike Handling Skills Lesson and Riding Safely on the Road course with Wycombe Cycle Training to improve my skills further. Thank you Audrey!
I would highly recommend Wycombe Cycle Training to anyone who is interested in improving their cycling skills. I decided to buy a road bike to help me to get fitter but found I felt uncomfortable riding in traffic. I opted for Advanced standard lessons and my instructor was Audrey, who was fantastic. She made it so easy for me to make the transition from mountain biker to 'lycra cycler' as she puts it. Lessons had a format of: "Here's what you need to know. Now what else do you want to know?" This tailored approach meant I was able to fill the gaps in my knowledge very quickly and came away from every ride buzzing with new ideas. I learned about a whole range of things from good road positioning, using clip-in shoes, riding up hills efficiently, to defensive cycling and even which clothes to wear! Our final session was a 100 mile ride around the beautiful countryside of Bucks and Oxfordshire, when I experienced the amazing recovery properties of Audrey's emergency Jelly Babies! Thank you so much WCT, I had lots of fun and now have a much better all round knowledge of riding a road bike.

We had tried for years to get our son, Hamza, cycling - with no success. After a couple of hours of very professional and competent cycle training with Audrey, our elder son Hamza has now become a confident and safe bicylist. We are very happy with the service delivered.
